Tessa van Dam Merrett originally became known for her floral arrangements. Upon completion of various diplomas and after several years working in the field, she realized she much preferred to share her knowledge with others and boost their confidence during flower arranging.

Her own style

Her manner of floral arranging is generous and traditional and could be described as freestyle. She is tired of all the rules and regimen of the flower schools and has consciously chosen her own direction. She is inspired by her surroundings and the seasons, and prefers to use flowers she picks from her own gardens: regardless of whether she uses herbs, roses or cauliflower, each decoration she creates is a tribute to nature itself.

From the flower studio into the kitchen

Because of our move to this region of gourmets and the abundance of a large selection of products, and by doing a lot of research and experimenting, a new love evolved; the love of cooking. Her experience as a floral designer and instructor are now coming in quite handy. By using fresh, organic ingredients, original recipes and applying her artistic flair, Tessa has already thrilled and inspired many a guest.
